To move massive volumes of mail and oversized packages between local city stations and major residential hubs, the Postal Service relies on the capacity of the 2-Ton Commercial Step Van. As a USPS Step Van Driver (City Carrier or MVO), you are the vital link that handles the freight too large for a standard postal LLV. This role involves navigating tight city streets, backing into complex loading docks, and executing rapid, multi-stop commercial parcel routes. Postal Step Van Operations

• 2-Ton Mastery: Safely operate a large, right-hand or left-hand drive commercial step van through heavily congested metropolitan environments. You must master advanced mirror usage, wide-turn radii, and extreme defensive driving to protect the U.S. Mail.
• High-Volume Parcel Logistics: You will be assigned "parcel-only" routes, utilizing the massive walk-in cargo area of the step van to organize and deliver hundreds of oversized boxes, Amazon drops, and heavy priority mail shipments.
• Accountable Mail Management: Utilize specialized scanning devices to track certified mail and registered parcels, capturing required customer signatures at commercial loading docks and residential porches.
• Federal Safety Compliance: Conduct rigorous DOT-style pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections daily on your assigned step van.

Requirements
